The ILI management made its first retreat to Wolliso, Negash Lodge. In its retreat, the management identified core areas of work and strategies of implementation for the year 2009/2010. The core works (strategic areas) identified was Teaching and Training, Research and Publication, Consultancy, Student Services, IT and Library Facilities, and Collaboration. After the identification of these core issues, the management divided the works aligned to the main departments of work: in Academic, Administrative and Collaboration Sections of the Institute.
